Holydays of Obligation 2025

Sunday, on which by apostolic tradition the paschal mystery is celebrated, must be observed in the universal Church as the primordial holy day of obligation. The Faithful are reminded that the following Feasts are Holy Days of Obligation upon which it is binding of the Faithful to hear Mass.

  • All Sundays: Every Sunday is a Holy Day of Obligation.
  • January 1, Wednesday: The Circumcision of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • January 6, Monday: The Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • February 2, Sunday: The Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
  • March 5, Wednesday: Ash Wednesday*
  • April 13, Sunday: The Triumphant Entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday).
  • April 17, Thursday: Maundy Thursday.
  • April 18, Friday: Good Friday.
  • April 19, Saturday: Holy Saturday.
  • April 20, Sunday: The Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Easter Sunday).
  • May 29, Thursday: The Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • June 8, Sunday: Pentecost Sunday.
  • June 15, Sunday: The Most Holy & Blessed Trinity.
  • June 19, Thursday: Festum Sanctissimi Corporis Christi (Corpus Christi).
  • June 29, Sunday: The Holy Apostles SS Peter & Paul.
  • August 15, Friday: The Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary).
  • November 1, Saturday: All Saints’ Day.
  • November 2, Sunday: All Souls’ Day.
  • November 30, Sunday: The First Sunday of Advent.
  • December 8, Monday: The Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary*
  • December 25, Thursday: The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Christmas).
  • January 1, Thursday (2026): The Circumcision of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
